| Content or Crime? Sarkodie Questions Ebo Noah’s Arrest as Viral Figure is Remanded |
The first week of 2026 has opened with a high-stakes legal and moral debate following the arrest and subsequent remand of Evans Eshun, popularly known as Ebo Noah. The self-styled prophet, who became a viral sensation in late 2025 for predicting a global "water apocalypse," is now facing the full weight of the law, sparking a massive conversation about the thin line between digital content creation and public safety. Following his arrest on December 31st, 2025, Ebo Noah was arraigned before the Adenta Circuit Court on January 2nd. The court, presided over by Madam Angela Attachie, remanded him into police custody for two weeks and ordered a psychiatric evaluation at the Pantang Psychiatric Hospital to determine his fitness for trial.

Eshun faces charges of publishing false news with the intent to cause fear and panic. This follows his months-long campaign on TikTok and YouTube, where he claimed a devastating flood would destroy the world on December 25th, 2025. Investigations have since revealed that the "arks" he claimed to be building were actually boats belonging to local fishermen, and that he is a private security guard with no religious credentials. The case took a turn into the entertainment spotlight when Sarkodie publicly reacted to the arrest. In an Instagram story shared on January 2nd, the rapper questioned the severity of the police action, suggesting that the authorities might be overreacting to what was essentially a digital performance.
"Don't know exactly what my boy's crime is, but from day one I knew he was making content, unless he's been charged with something else," Sarkodie stated. The "Landlord’s" comments have split the public. Some agree with the rapper, arguing that Ebo Noah is a comedian and content creator who should be protected under free speech. Others, however, point to the real-world consequences, citing reports of families from as far as Liberia abandoning their homes and traveling to Ghana with their luggage in search of Noah’s Ark.
Adding to the irony, Ebo Noah was actually spotted at Sarkodie’s Rapperholic 2025 on Christmas Day—the very day he predicted the world would end. Dressed in his signature sackcloth, he told fans the calamity had been "postponed" by divine intervention. For many, this appearance was the final proof that the prophecy was a branding exercise, but for the police, it was the climax of a campaign that caused nationwide anxiety. As Ebo Noah prepares to reappear in court on January 16th, 2026, the industry is left with a burning question: In an era where "clout" is currency, where does the performance end and the crime begin?
